Campaigns

A campaign is a one-time email send to a targeted group of contacts. It's the core of your outreach strategy: pick your audience, design your message, and deliver it at the right moment.

Creating a Campaign

  1. Navigate to Campaigns in the sidebar and click New Campaign.
  2. Enter a name, subject line, and optional preview text (the short snippet that appears alongside the subject in the inbox).
  3. Set your From Name and From Email. The email domain must be verified before you can send.
  4. Select a template for the email body.
  5. Choose your audience: all subscribed contacts, or a specific segment.
  6. Optionally assign a suppression group so contacts who opted out of that email category are automatically excluded.

Sending and Scheduling

Send Now dispatches the campaign immediately to all eligible recipients.Schedule lets you pick a future date and time, which is useful for aligning sends with your audience's time zones or coordinating with product launches.

Before sending to your full audience, use Send Test to deliver a preview to your own inbox. This lets you verify formatting, personalization, and link behavior before committing.

Campaign Lifecycle

  • Draft: the campaign is being prepared. You can edit all fields freely.
  • Scheduled: the campaign is locked in and waiting for its scheduled time. You can reset it to draft if changes are needed.
  • Sending: delivery is in progress. The system processes recipients in batches.
  • Sent: delivery is complete. Performance data is available in Analytics.

Email and SMS Channels

Campaigns can be sent over either Email or SMS. When you create a new campaign, you choose the channel up front. Email campaigns use the full template editor with subject lines, preview text, and HTML content. SMS campaigns use a simplified text composer with a character counter and optional MMS attachments. The audience for SMS campaigns is automatically filtered to contacts who have given SMS consent and have a phone number on file. For more details on setting up and sending text messages, see the SMS Marketing documentation.

Personalization

Subject lines and email content support template variables that are replaced per recipient. Variables like {{first_name}} and {{company}} make each email feel individually crafted, which improves open rates and engagement.

Measuring Success

After a campaign is sent, the detail page shows delivery metrics including sent, delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, and unsubscribed counts. Use these numbers to refine your subject lines, content strategy, and audience targeting for future sends.
